What up, my meeples.
So, I felt bored one day (as normal!) so I had an idea. The idea being that, as I enjoy mixing colours to match pictures from source materials, why not try to start with 3 colours (and black & white) and then mix up each colour I need as I need it and keep a journal of it in this thread.
So I went ahead and bought 72.010, 72.005, 72.021, 72.001 and 72.051 (Bloody Red, Moon Yellow, Magic Blue, White and Black) from Vallejo's Game Color range.
So, feel free to tune in whenever I update with models and stages. I will likely be using my Bushido Prefecture of Ryu models for this!

So, my first two models are for the Batman mini game. I am painting Prisoner 01 and 02. The first coat was 100% Bloody Red (72.010) The second coat was ~16% Bloody Red (72.010) and ~84% Moon Yellow (72.005) On to the greys! So the boots and undershirts were done with 50/50 mix of Dead White (72.001) and Negro (72.051) Manacles and the pipe's first coat was made by 33% 72.051 and 67% 72.001. Manacles and Pipe were highlighted with gradually lighter shades of grey until I ended up with pure white. And, the crowning moment: the skin tone started with Bloody Red and then added in 5 parts Moon Yellow and 6 parts Dead White. I was dead chuffed with how the skin tone came out! Next time will be nonwhite skin. ++More to come!++ ++Along with pictures!++

So, new day means a new post! Continuing on from last night's progress I moved onto mud and other brown effects and jesus was Mud a bitch to mix. Yet to try the wood of the big stick... But the mud was done by starting with 72.010, I added 4 parts 72.005, 1 part 72.021 and 72.051 then I added an additional part of 72.010 before lightening the mixture with between 1 and 2 parts 72.001!
So, in an attempt to make a leather/wood brown I started by mixing a 2:3 ratio of Bloody Red and Moon Yellow for an orange, then I mixed a 1:3 ratio of Magic Blue to Bloody Red for a Purple. Which I then mixed together in a roughly 50/50 mix before adding a small amount of Moon Yellow.
Then I painted the hair with a 50/50 split of Dead White and Negro.
After that I painted Pipeman's Bandana with a 2:1 mix of Magic Blue and Negro. Now for finishing tiuches! (Where I will cheat slightly and use GW washes and glazes.)
++More to come!!++
