1870, war has enveloped the globe, empires tear into each other, fighting over the future of the Earth, using technologies far ahead of anything seen before.
A quater of a century earlier Dr. Barnabus Sturgeon discovered, nestled in the inhospitable icescape of Antartica, a vault of ancient technology and a new wonder element called Sturginium.
Styrginium allowed great leaps in technology, accelerating the scientific advancement of humanity by well over two centuries.
The players on this stage are many, their alliances set and their wrongs ready to be expunged with the blood of nations.
The Kingdom of Brittania
The island nation of Great Britan has long been the lord of the seas, the vast navy and mass industrialisation allowing for Queen Victoria to rule an Empire over which the sun never sets. Their rugged and reliable construction and favour of shield generators allow the Brittanian ships to suffer more punishment than one would expect.
The Repulique of France
Long the waning force, vast holes gouged into her once great empire, wracked by strife and civil war the people of this proud nation see nothing but opportunity to reclaim their right as Rulers. They favour anti-gravitic vessels at sea and lances of heat to decimate enemy ships.
The Prussian Empire
A nation reforging it's image after the megolomaniac Heinrich Otto the Prussians are suitated such that assault comes from all sides. The stoic nature of it's people is reflected in their functional and sturdy ship design, vessels studded with terrifying arrays of Tesla Directed Energy weapons, horrifying Speerschleuders flinging giant harpoons taller than a man to act as lightning rods.
The Federated States of America
After the Union tried to take resources native to a few member states, the young nation found itself emvroiled in a bitter civil war between thw Confederates and the Unionists. The Confederation won in the end and set to turning the States into a force to be reckoned with, utilising single barrel repeater cannons and a dual waterwheel design their naval vessels punch far harder than one would imagine.
Empire of the Blazing Sun
The Little Giant of the Pacific, the imperialists of Japan have taken Korea and are already threatening their enemies with fanatical zeal bordering on suicidal their ships resemble freight trains, spitting rockets as they pilot closer and closer.
The Russian Coalition
The Russian Coalition was dragged into the moderm age by the Romanov Tsar Peter, leading to the nations industrialisation. The Russian methodology for warfare is as predictable and straight foreward as it's people - to drive headfirst into the danger, trusting to their heavily armoured ships to survive almost intact until they are in range to unleash a hail of cannon fire.
The Covenant of Antartica
Little has been seen of the covenant since they closed fheir borders and recalled their citizens back home, all that is known is that their technology is far ahead of anyone elses. A reliance on dromes and their technological superiority to make up for their lack of numbers or experience.
So, in an age of Victorian Super Science with giant robots fighting floating robotic squid, which side will you choose? One of the big players or a smaller force, who are still nothing you want to underestimaye.
This is the time for the Dystopian Wars!
