Alright guys, we're drawing our current campaign, The Prosecution of Scythia IV, to a close. This has been decided as the playerbase has steadily waned and everyone is getting fairly burnt out on it. It was only intended as an experiment to learn from anyway, and thus we are going to apply that knowledge to the next campaign(s).
This thread will be the sign-up sheet and organisation point for these upcoming campaigns, which will occur at the same time as each other. We're going to organise things in a very different way for this one:
So, those of you interested, if you would like to add a post to this thread containing your name and desired faction for the duration of this campaign, we can begin to gauge the player interest, and organise groups to play with each other. Remember, only apply if you're sure you can commit! We'll be aiming to get this rolling mid to late September in store.
This thread will be the sign-up sheet and organisation point for these upcoming campaigns, which will occur at the same time as each other. We're going to organise things in a very different way for this one:
- There will be multiple campaigns at the same time, but they will all be entirely separate stories experienced by the players participating. The number and size of these campaigns will depend on interest, but we're aiming for four players per group,
- These campaigns will have a heavy narrative focus. Week-on-week, there will be a mission for you to play out as a group that will be influenced by the results of previous missions, and will affect subsequent missions. You will create your own tale as you play together,
- Please only consider applying if you feel confident you can be here every Saturday for up to six weeks. Crises or other problems that cause you to miss a day will be fine, you can reschedule with the others in your group for another day, or agree to delay by a week,
- We will be playing using the standard Warhammer 40K rules. Lists must be Battle Forged, so no Unbound lists. You may utilise up to two Detachments in your lists, and Forge World is sanctioned. We will also schedule some Apocalypse games for large setpiece battles, and these will allow Unbound lists. On the other side of the coin, we will be using the Heralds of Ruin Kill Team ruleset, for smaller scouting missions with a tighter focus,
- Your grouping will be decided by the faction you choose versus the other factions available. The aim is to recreate the battles of Warhammer 40K in a way true to the fluff. So we'll ideally be organising, say, Thousand Sons against Space Wolves, or Black Legion against Cadians, to get those age-old rivalries in place,
- You will require an account on this forum, and also need to be active on it. Important information regarding the campaigns will be posted here, and Private Messaged to your Inbox on this forum. This information will be things like what kind of mission will be upcoming, as well as what scale it will be, (Apocalypse, Standard, or Kill Team,)
- We will require lists on the day of the game, which will be checked over by a staff member to ensure fairness. This allows us to help players not so used to their Codices amend mistakes, or even old hands who forgot to carry the one on their points values,
- Finally, this is first and foremost about having a laugh, and creating some awesome confrontations and stories from the game. You need to collaborate with the other players in your group for several weeks, so polite and friendly play are the way to go. We will expect good sportsmanship, but in the event of foul play or unsportsmanlike behaviour, please call a staff member who will help resolve the situation. This is not a competition, remember, just Toy Soldiers,
